A celebration of my mother's life. I am planting cabbages and remembering the gifts from my mother, the skills of propagation, the making of chaotic gardens. There are quotes from J.S. Bach, Ecclesiastes and The Australian Home Gardener. And information such as how to make soot water, support trees and examples of how we never quite grew sweet peas or made such a child's garden. My mother's voice is in the description of propagation by cuttings and by bulb division.
